Name: Eric David Mulroney
Codename: Fritz
Aliases: Isaac Martinson
Age: 29
Occupation: handyman/former civil engineer
Sexuality: bisexual
Faction: Guthrie Farm
Physical Description: Eric is a handsome man who happens to know full and well that he is an object of attraction for many people around him. Sometimes he even flaunts himself just to receive attention for some unknown reason. He stands 6’2” and weighs 190 lb of well trained muscle, with broad shoulders and a strong body. His looks are not the most classically handsome, but he does have a certain charm about him that is attractive and beautiful in his own little way. Eric almost always seems to have at least some five o’clock shadow for some reason, but he never seems to notice or care; ever since he was pretty much exiled from society and ended up at the Guthrie Farm in hiding, he has abandoned his once very fashionable self for something a lot more rustic and practical.
Some of his defining features include his rather prominent eyebrows, large nose, and interesting glasses he wears when he doesn’t use his contact lenses (his eyes are quite bad – nasty case of myopia). Despite being poor and thrown out on his ass with his dog by his ex-girlfriend when she found out about his mutation, he still tries to maintain something of the past. He keeps himself clean and tidy, his hair is always immaculate and well-done, and he does have that amazing wardrobe that he once had, most of it at least. Only now he has plaid shirts, very worn jeans, and work boots that come in handy as a jack of all trades on a farm. Eric knows that he is a very sexy man that attracts people of both sexes, and he is very accepting of that position, even if nowadays he is surrounded by a bunch of teenagers and children. The girls especially always have eyes for their good-looking elder.
Likes: *being able to help people
*mechanics - fixing them, studying them, etc
*reality television, his ultimate guilty pleasure
*both men and women (he's bisexual)
*his Australian Shepherd, Baxter
Dislikes: *being told his sister is a mutant, too (even though her powers are still mostly latent)
*driving, cars, and form of transport other than his own two feet
*being rejected, feared, scorned, etc
*the ex-girlfriend who reported him to authorities and forced him to flee to the Guthrie Farm
*he's not a big fan of children...
Personality: For most of his life, Eric has had to live up to expectations, and one of his main problems in life it seems is the inability to be everything and more that is expected of him. As the only son, he was immediately his father’s favorite, his father’s chosen one, and that meant that the day he started college he was expected to become a civil engineer and take over the family business, which he did. He was expected to find himself a beautiful, smart, educated woman, and he did that, too. But in the end, it all fell through. Still, he has overcome it all and he continues to be happy, even though he is bitter that his identity as a mutant is quite public and he is in hiding with an alias (Isaac Martinson), all because that girlfriend he was days from proposing to freaked when she found out what he was. Also, finding out he was bisexual on top of a mutant didn’t help.
Eric is smart, having attended one of the best schools possible with good grades, but he sees nothing wrong with being a handyman. Nevertheless, he isn’t that fond of children or the ogling he receives as a good looking man surrounded by pre-teens who think of him as an ideal sex object for their pubescent dreams, but he deals with it, always trying to make things happy to keep attention off the bad aspects of the lives they have found themselves in. He is kind and determined, with a good heart and a stable head, but in the end, even optimistic Eric knows there will probably be a bad ending for everyone involved, no matter how hard they try to recover their good names and keep themselves alive. He lives day by day, and he never thinks about tomorrow, ever.
History: Born as the third child of five, and the only son, Eric had many expectations to live up to in the eyes of his father. The Mulroney family of Bangor, Maine had connections across the state through his family’s wealth and social fortune. Mulroney Engineering was Maine’s number one engineering firm, in addition to a large number of other business interests and three members of the state senate, besides their cousin the governor. Eric was raised in the limelight of Maine’s social elite, but from birth he was just “one of the girls” it seemed – identical twin older sisters, and the two babies of the family always seemed to take precedent over him.
After a straight A high school career (with some help from his doting, over-bearing father) while on the soccer and debate teams, Eric attended Princeton on a full scholarship to study civil engineering. During his freshman year in an engineering seminar, his once latent powers came out into the open. Frustrated with what he was doing, rewiring something in an electrics class, he imagined doing it mentally and it happened without even touching it. Eric got an A on the assignment, and from there his powers began to unravel themselves on an almost daily basis.
It was also there that he met Ashlyn Parker, a young New Yorker who eventually became his long time girlfriend. After receiving his Masters degree, he took a position in the city to be with her as she worked in advertising for her father’s company. They lived together for four years, and he had even bought Ashlyn a $75,000 diamond ring to ask her for her hand in marriage when the unthinkable happen.
While he thought Ashlyn was at work, he worked on one of his pet projects while using his powers. When she barged in on where he had been rewiring a lamp he had found in a dumpster, his powers went haywire and destroyed a number of vases as she screamed in horror. She ran out to call the authorities, giving him twenty minutes to grab whatever he could and throw it into his car. The rest of his stuff ended back at his home, brought to him eventually by his sister Bridget as he tried to find a place to hide. He became a wanted criminal, not only for being a mutant but for property damage and assault somehow.
Finding the Guthrie Farm, he was taken in about six months ago as a handyman, with the promise that his identity would be protected as long as he did nothing to draw attention to himself and the farm. With his dog Baxter, Eric has taken to living the rustic life, even if he yearns to be back in the city, free and able to live the life he once had. At least now without Ashlyn hanging over him like a watchdog, he has been able to also come to terms with his bisexuality, even having something of a boyfriend for a short period of time. He is currently single and ready to mingle.
Power: Eric's power involves manipulation of inorganic objects down to the cellular level, giving him the power to break things and then build them back up in an entirely new way. He can create new structures out of steel, iron, etc. Since he was a late bloomer and he has had no training, though, he still has not uncovered some of the more intricate arts to his power. At this point he has only uncovered the passive talents, and so far he has had no reason to use the more active ones - manipulating the earth to create stone walls, among other applications, but they will all reveal themselves in due time. His weakness now is that he is inexperienced - his powers quite frankly fritz on him, even though his codename comes from things being on the fritz when he fixes them.
